Filtering Principle And Classification Of Oil Filter

Cartridge filter can be divided into three categories: mechanical separation, centrifugation and magnetic adhesion.

Mechanical separation according to their function form can be divided into pure mechanical separation, separation and adsorption separation of three overhead. Mechanical separation of common grid filter filter size small holes on the surface, the solid particles in the oil, is larger than the holes were blocked on the outer surface of the filter. Overhead separation refers to the first one or a number of small particles attached to dimensions greater than their filter on the inner wall of the cavity, cavities the size of small piled up because of the pass to later particle to form overhead, filtering out particle size smaller than hole size.

Because of oil particles in the beginning most irregular, so overhead is easy to form. There are rubber material in oil, often attached to the filter surface or cavity walls, this is separation.

Actual effect, is not a single theory, but these principles are combined, this means: why nominal pore size of 50 μ m mesh, 20 μ m or smaller particles capable to filter.

Centrifugal separation is to make the oil through a high speed rotation of the rotor, so that impurities by centrifugal force onto the inner wall of the rotor, thus separating it from the oil.

Magnetic absorption is permanent-magnet iron particles in the oil, so they cycle back and forth in the oil, harm machine parts.

Classified by arrangement in the lubrication system: full-flow and diversion.
